Visit Bucks County

Saw this bus around Times Square in NYC. It's a good time of year to visit Bucks County. In another week or two the leaves will be changing and the drives through the countryside will be amazing!
A few years ago, a noted travel magazine rated the ride down River Road from New Hope to Washington Crossing  as one of the top ten scenic drives in the world.
I think that the drive from New Hope to Easton along the Delaware Canal is just as spectacular.
It's just a hop, skip, and a jump from the metro NY area....straight out 78 west to 611 south to River Road.
Lots of things to see; New Hope, Pearl S. Bucks' house, The Michener Museum in Doylestown, antique stores and great restaurants....the possibilties are endless!

911 Memorial

I visited the 911 Memorial saturday. It is still hard to grasp the enormity of that terrible day of destruction.
The Memorial grounds are simple and feel cathedral like. Sacred ground.
On the way in,they hand out little tracing kits so you can trace a name.

Protesters camped out in Lower Manhattan

I was in Manhattan on saturday to visit the 911 Memorial and walked past this park where protesters were camped out.
I think it was Liberty Park and the protesters were there for "Occupy Wall Street"
EVGRIEVE reported on sunday that the police pepper sprayed several young ladies.

Big Bob's Barbecue

Labor Day Weekend and Big Bob's Barbecue is winding down for the season. The tent is set-up out side Blooming Glen Pork store in Blooming Glen Pa which is located on route 113.
Although I am not a real big fan of barbecue, this is real good!
I mainly go to this store for the bacon which I believe is the best in Bucks county! All natural, real smoked with no excess water. Yum!
