Stone Arch Bridge

I've passed this bridge many times in my travels up and down River Road and today I thought I'd stop and take a picture. As I was walking from the creek, I was approached by the landowner who was very cordial and explained to me that this is the oldest Stone Arch Bridge in Bucks County! It had been re-built because the drainage pipes were covered or otherwise faulty and caused it's collapse. He then pointed out the original stone which shows when the bridge was built and how many miles to Philadelphia. Not sure which town it's in. Somewhere around Kintnersville.

His and Hers

I was on Blooming Glen road in Blooming Glen when I spied what appeared to be "His and Her" outhouses at a deserted looking farmhouse. I pulled over and walked through some weeds and sticker bushes to get closer to take a pic.

There were some curtains and an old fashioned lamp in the window of the farmhouse.....maybe not deserted?

Anyway, upon closer inspection, the building on the left appears to be some sort of smokehouse and not an outhouse.

Frankenfield Covered Bridge

One of several covered bridges in Bucks County, this one seems to sustain damage quite often from trucks trying to "squeeze" under neath. This bridge is located near VanSant airport in Tinicum.

Palm trees

And perhaps some palm trees for that SoCal feeling!

Ocean in Oceanside

Of course a place named Oceanside must have an ocean!

Mission

This is the front of the mission. California has missions up and down the coast. The way I understand it is that they were spaced a days ride apart. On horseback of course.

Oceanside Mission

It's getting pretty chilly here in Bucks County. Got me to thinking about warmer climes. I was in Oceanside,CA in february and the weather was beautiful! This first one is kinda appropriate for halloween. It's the entrance to the cemetary at the mission.
